The computer center has a council representing the highest authority of the center to administer the affaires of its technical units and their works and to present suggestions leading to develop their works and raise the efficiency of performance which ultimately leads to the development of the work of the center at large. The activity of the computer center and its services are divided into five units headed by the director of the computer center. Each of these units is headed by a director who technically and administratively runs the unit as follows:

  Technical Units
Training and rehabilitating cadres ------------------- Courses Unit
Computer and accessory maintenance and repair-- Maintenance Unit
Software and system building -----------------------  System Unit
Internet and site building ----------------------------- Internet Unit

The following Flow chart represents the administration framework of the Computer Center in the year 2005 :

Providing informatic infrastructure for the center
In a world where the network of the center is prone to be exposed at any time to a security crisis, the infrastructure of the center should be ready to anything and to everything.
No matter what the administration of the computer center spends on the technology of infrastructure security, it still remains prone to dangers unless the administration of the center continuously applies security measures. One of these measures is the physical control measure to protect computers and their accessories by restricting entrance to offices and buildings where computers exist. This measure ensures good protection against dangers attributed to individuals besides natural dangers. Such measures can be:

Appropriate design of the computer center and good provision of devices and accessories.
Anti fire precautions using automatic alarm systems.
The use of stabilizers and (UPS) to secure electric current flow.
The use of an adequate and efficient air-conditioning system.
Resources required to preserve a secure infrastructure for information technology have been provided. The computer center has, therefore, begun to assist scientific departments and administration offices to achieve information security and maintain it to attain an environment of high security.

Future Insight of Internet Use
The wide use of internet and digital techniques is indicated by the electronic works through the internet of an educational establishment or university and the quick communication with the internet or the suitable band width in performing successful electronic works through the internet where the data and files of this establishment are carried to the internet broad band. What broad band represents to users, will make the internet and ideal environment for works, enjoyment and advantage. The main points observed by users of broad bands are:

Faster Transfer of Files. Data can be transferred in a speed 100 times faster than those performed by the ordinary bands.
Flexibility in Work. Broad band connections are always ready and communication does not disconnect and it is possible to get access to the internet network once the computer is operated.
Developing Electronic Works. The broad band can have a vital role in developing electronic works such as holding meetings, lectures and conferences through the internet network using special programs which make use of broad band techniques in communication.

Site Display
The internet unit of the computer center is considered the best technical unit of building internet sites at the University of Technology. The work team of this unit is comprised of a group of specialized people in designing and developing internet sites. The site indicates that the experts of the unit are qualified to implement the latest languages and design softwares available for the construction of outstanding sites that can satisfy all needs.
As an endeavor of the internet unit for the purpose of offering services of constructing and maintaining sites and continuous technical support through the E-mail of the unit, it is possible that a reply from this unit can be obtained within 24 hours.

Information System Development
Information systems witnessed rapid development since the emergence of computers and their implementation in work administration. This development led to the appearance of tens of information systems aiming at:
Assisting the university high administration, due to the great need, for obtaining comprehensive information and statistics to carry out the works of all its departments, administration offices and research centers. These systems are designed to assist in handling these works, improving the performance and determining possible problems that may confront the university in future.

Assisting heads of engineering and scientific departments, administration offices, teaching staff as well as officials and students working at the university by providing developed communication means i.e. Electronic Mail, Electronic data Interchange which provides the facility of direct electronic data interchange between computers.
These systems are built on the basis of using Local Area Network (LAN). It ensures the capability of communication and transmission of data between different employees of the university. Office Automation for text processing, office publication, electronic tables, charts etc... is a widely used application.
